“Berlin says thank you” and “Multaka: Treffpunkt Museum” joins in!

On 7 March 2020, more than eighty locations will take part in the Berlin-wide campaign “Berlin says thank you!”. The aim is to say thank you to all Berliners who are socially, politically or culturally committed to a diverse Berlin. They make Berlin a city where people from all over the world are welcome and stand up for each other and we – the Multakis – say THANK YOU!

The States Museums in Berlin and Multaka: Treffpunkt Museum are involved in the Day of Action: Our guides from Syria and Iraq will lead you in German through two museums. Visitors will be introduced to Syrian and Iraqi cultural assets as outstanding testimonies to human history. The use of dialogical methods allows for an active involvement of the visitors and promotes the exchange between the participants.

Venues:

Bode Museum

• Guided tours (German) for adults through the Sculpture Collection and Museum of Byzantine Art // 2 – 3 pm and 4 – 5 pm with our guides Mariam Bachi and Kenan Melhem

Pergamon Museum

• Guided tours (German) for adults in the Museum of Islamic Art // 2 – 3 pm and 4 – 5 pm with our guides Razan Nassreddine and Alaa Alkassir
• Guided tours (German) for adults in the Museum of the Ancient Near East // 2 – 3 pm and 4 – 5 pm with our guides Alan Diko and Bachar Shahin

Admission and participation in the guided tours are free of charge on the occasion of the day of action “Berlin says thank you”. The number of participants is limited. Meeting points are the ticket offices of the participating museums. Registration is not necessary.
