  eighty locations will take part in the Berlin-wide campaign "Berlin says t
 hank you!". The aim is to say thank you to all Berliners who are socially\,
  politically or culturally committed to a diverse Berlin. They make Berlin 
 a city where people from all over the world are welcome and stand up for ea
 ch other and we - the Multakis - say THANK YOU!</p><p>The States Museums in
  Berlin and Multaka: Treffpunkt Museum are involved in the Day of Action: O
 ur guides from Syria and Iraq will lead you in German through two museums. 
 Visitors will be introduced to Syrian and Iraqi cultural assets as outstand
 ing testimonies to human history. The use of dialogical methods allows for 
 an active involvement of the visitors and promotes the exchange between the

 et5uql"><strong>About the Artists:</strong><br />Yasser Almaamoun is an arc
 hitect and activist from Syria\, living in Berlin since 2013. He completed 
 his master degree from the HTW Berlin in "Construction and Real Estate Mana
 gement". After being awarded high honors for his thesis\, Yasser now works 
 at the same college. Since 2014\, he has worked as a spokesperson for the c
 ampaign "Kindertransporthilfe" at the ZPS\, and in 2016 joined the Multaka:
  Museum as Meeting Point Team. Yasser created a platform for young architec
 ts in Berlin\, as well as working as a curator for the project Stadtlabor 2
 050.</div><div></div><div class="o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5u
 ql">Born 1995\, Dublin Ireland. Luke Holden is a visual and sound artist pr
 imarily focusing with the medium of glass to present date. Exploring themes
  to do with our presentness of self in the contemporary world\, he uses sou
 nd to focus our attention and plays with the noises we filter out or have g
 rown to subdue in an attempt to momentarily reconnect us to time and place.
  Modern technology as we understand it is due to scientific advances in gla
 ss technology. Fiber optics\, screens\, glass devices that are supposed to 
 connect us have also created a juxtapose position. Luke uses glass as a sta
 rting point to reengage present perception and to shed light into moments o
 f engagement\, whimsy or insignificant pleasure.</div>

 ay\, where we will tour the temporary exhibition Industrial Photography in 
 Divided Germany. The exhibition shows photographs taken for industrial ente
 rprises in East and West Germany between 1949 and 1990. The exhibition reve
 als the ideas associated with the historic visual sources\, drawing out dif
 ferences and similarities between East and West in their depictions of prog
 ress. But what role does material play in communicating the message?</p><p>
 The programme continues the next day\, on the 20<sup>th</sup> of May\, at t
 he Berlin Glas studio\, where <a href="http://www.jeffxzimmer.com" target="
 _blank" rel="noopener">Jeff Zimmer</a> will teach us to paint on glass. Pho
 tography and text are important aspects of Jeff's works\, and we look forwa
 rd to learning more about his practice together and learning an exciting te
 chnique!</p><p>Jeff is an Edinburgh-based artist with over 20 years of expe
 rience working with imagery on glass. His works are in various internationa
 l museum collections. He won the <a href="https://berlinglas.us5.list-manag
 e.com/track/click?u=e4b436c90f984cdb3efa7f15b&id=5afad1d7dd&e=37ed56e211">2
 019 British Glass Biennale</a>\, and Second Prize in the <a href="https://b
